Thankful things of this year ~ Journal # 27

Thanksgiving Day is one of the most important day in America.
People are happy and exciting to enjoy their turkey and their time at that day.
To some of region students maybe that is not a big day to them, especially me.
But I still have some thankful things I want to thank in this year, my parents, my friends, and my ALP teachers.
Thanks my parents, my parents give me a chance to go to America for study, they pay all of the costs including tuition, bills, and incidental. And I know working is hard that my parents have to work harder to pay my costs. So I want to thanks them do these for me.
Thanks my friends, in America, friends is kind of important to me, cause it is different to get help without any relatives here and I do not have car here too. So my friends help me a lot not just take me to buy food they also invite me and take me to go out have fun. If I my friends were not help me that I will be alone and can go to anywhere.
Thanks my ALP teachers, study in America Language Program is useful to me to improve my English. Because all my teachers do their best to teach us can learn and know more English stuffs. So thanks them try to teach hard and push us to use English better.
Although I do have delicious turkey dinner at this year's Thanksgiving Day, but I still have good lobster lunch with my friend in Boston. And the most eventful thing is how I appreciate about my parents, friends, and teachers.

The fish dish of Chinese ~ Journal # 26

Why Chinese cook fish and eat fish

Fish is a greater delicacy than meat and poultry in Chinese food. The cooking of fish is also a more delicate matter.

The charm of Chinese seafood is the way in which vegetables are combined with it to make more of the fish itself. Each is independent of the other, yet each depends on the other for the excellence of the dish. While westerners rarely, if ever, cook fish and vegetables together, the Chinese, for the most part, do just that. There are almost as many ways of cooking fish as there are ways of cooking. Fish is even eaten raw, for which salmon and cod are good.
Fish from the sea is much used along the coastal provinces of China but fresh-water fish plays a much greater part in Chinese cooking than in the west. The Chinese ways of cooking probably make it so. Restaurants and even households often buy live fish and keep them swimming in tanks until needed for use. For celebrations and parties the Chinese serve fish whole.

A headless, tailless fish is considered incomplete and unaesthetic. There is a practical reason for leaving the fish intact: fewer juice escape during the cooking process. Of sea fish, bluefish, whitefish, flounder, cod, salmon, bass, and fresh sardine can make good Chinese dishes. Shad and mullet are partly sea and partly river fish. Shad is a great delicacy in China. Of fresh-water fish, carp and buffalo carp are the most important in Chinese fish dishes.

How to cook fish

There are two ways of cooking fish plain in China, steaming and simmering which are both a good choice from a nutritional point of view because unlike frying, they do not increase the fat content. It does not matter you can just taste one flavor in one fish, you can choose any seasoning and put it into you plate when you cook.

• Steaming Fish

1. Put the fish placed in a plate with seasoning and very small amount of water.


2. Put the dish placed on a rack in a wok with boiling water.


3. To use the aluminum steamers if you are concerned that boiling water in the wok will remove your hard-earned seasoning.

• Simmering Fish-Shad, bass, pike, and mullet and plaice are suitable for clear-simmering.

1. Put the fish together with the small amount of liquid seasoning directly into the pot.


2. Bring to boiling over high heat and reduce heat to simmer as soon as boiling starts.


3. Never let boiling continue hard or it will ruin the fish.

The Night Visitor ~ Journal # 24

A man living with his parents called David. They living in a bad house with not so nice neighborhood. The house was so bad that need to be repair, also the windows and doors are can not locked properly. David talk to his mom he can not sleep well at every night, because he always hears some "scratching" noises in his bedroom. His mom thought that was some animals to make these noises like rats or cats, but his mom check his room and find no any animals in his room. One day at the sleep time, he hears the "scratching" noises again, but this time he decided to ignore it and fell asleep.
He does not know how long he had been asleep when he sat up his bed, then crying out and using his hands to flying his back. He had been bitten in his middle part of his back while he sleep. He feels weird so that he decided to tells his dad. His dad check David's back and find out the spot did not look like a bit. So they went back to David's bedroom and inspected David's bed. They found a hole through the fitted sheet and some of the mattress stuffing. They though that was the spring come through the bed, so that David's dad flipped dowe to check the box spring.
What he found was a long knife stuck in the mattress, and pointing upwards. He also found some mud under the bed. The imprint exact like a person. So they checking outside of the window immediately then found some fresh footpoint away from David's bedroom. Someone had slipped into David's from the window which was unlucked and the person was lain under the bed. The "scratching" noises was the person using the long knife to dig the box spring and mattress to kill him.

The Fire ~ Journal # 22

Fire, the important natural element, which can light everything, using on cook, or something else. It gives human a lot of benefits, but it also has disadvantage to human.
While I see the news on TV which is talking about the ubiquitous fire in south California.
Everything looks so terrible and scary, houses and trees was gone, only remained some black ,broken remnants. The sky was be tinged by blue, dark, or yellow.
As I know recently, it was already 2 people dead on it.
So the negative part of fire is it can kills people and burns anything.
If I find a fire that is toward, I will feel it should not be toward anymore, yet it will burning anywhere more and more then become a big urgent problem.
So I will try my best to extinguish the fire before it get growing and diffusing.
The worse problem, the fire of south California,can be contrnl right now.
Fortunate that no too many people died in the fire, so now everybody knows we have to be careful when we want to use fire.

The Management Of Using Time~ Journal # 21

Know how to use time very effectively is very important to master,and learn how to use time and let it become one part of you skill when you are still a college student or university student.

Here are several techniques can more easy to manage your time, use watch, use notebook, or make a good friend.

First, watch is one of useful creature in this world. The function of Watch is remind the time.

One of the method to manage your time is use watch, while you use watch you would not forget about what time it is right now, that you will not miss some important meeting, date, or appointment.

Second, have a mini-notebook is helpful to your schedule, it is not necessary big or heavy.

Carry a notebook is very complex or not useful to some of students, but they do not know maybe use a mini-notebook is a good technique to manage your schedule. Write note or memo on your notebook and bringing it with you everyday. That you will follow your schedule easily.

Third, make a good friend who you most like to hang-out and to believe.

Friend is somebody who can stay beside you while your family is not stay beside you. Especially make a good friend is can remind you to do something which is important or urgent. Find a friend you are very trust about him or her, and hang-out with him or her often. Even you forget you plan or things, he or she can tells you very quickly.

So, those techniques what I am talk about are very effectively to control your time. Also remember those techniques can easy help you how to manage your time. Do not waste your time easily, because time is money.

My favorite Holiday ~ Journal # 20

My favorite holiday is Chinese New Year.
Chinese New Year is the most important gala in Taiwan.
In that period,we always do some traditional things and do some interesting pastime.
At the first day of Chinese New Year, every member of our big family will comes back to my grandmother's house.
And we can meet relative who we don't meet often.
Then we we will have a dinner together and talk about what they have done at last year.
But the most exciting moment is when adults give children red envelopes.
Because we don't know in the red envelope will how much money in there.
After got red envelopes, my cousins will suggest how about do some thing fun.
Next, we will gambling use our money from our red envelopes.
I am enjoyful my Chinese New Year in every year.
Also I am happy about I can see our big family can get together at that period.
So the Chinese New Year is my favorite holiday!

The Halloween ~ Journal # 19

The Halloween to me doesn't have any meaning before when I still live in Taiwan.
But live in America, the Halloween is kind of a speacil event to me.
The Halloween is the one of the most speacil holiday in U.S.A.
A lot of people will wear costume at that day.
They are always cute, scare, or funny when they wear costume.
To children, the Halloween is a fun day, because they can have fun from ask candies.
You can image how lovely when they stand infront of you and say "trick or treat?!"
To teenager, the Halloween is a carzy day, because they can go to a lot of Halloween party.
And drank a lot of soda or alcohol and make more friends.
So the Halloween doesn't mysterious anymore to everyone.
I hope I can have some thing fun at this Halloween.

I Like Magic Movies ~ Journal # 16

Magic movie is my favorite type of all movies, especially Harry Potter.
In magic movie, they can use magic, fly in sky,...etc.
And they will live in somewhere that have magic everywhere.
Most of magic movie have some strange or amazing animals or something creatures which doesn't existing in real world.
Watch magic movie just like live in magic world, and I alwayse image I can use magic to do something which is other people can't do it, and fly in sky for go somewhere in short time, then meet some animals that they have ugly or beauty outlook and they can speak to me.
That's why I love magic movies, because that's impossible happened in real world,and it's can come ture just when I watch magic movies.

The Place I Would Like To Go Is French ~ Journal # 17

The place I would like to go is French. Why I want to go to French, because it's has fashion element, romantic tone, and dainty foods.

Everybody know French is the bigger fashion factory in this world that has a lot of designer live there and has a lot of famous board over there. In every season, designer will designs a lot of particular clothing. When a new season coming that you can see people wear colorful and beauty clothing walk in the streets just like live fashion show around French street.

The romantic tone already be long time in French. Most of French men are like gentlemen that they know how to let women be happy and know how to make women feel like a sweet girl all the time, because men are so polite to women then women are become softer to men. Around French just like a peaceful and lovely heaven.

Go to French for dainty foods is good choose for some people who is love to great food very much. Eat French foods just like enjoy arts that you can find out when you eating in French restaurant. But the best food I want to eat in French is dessert and snack. When you taste every single bit, you can image some amzing view in your mind and you will feel want to fly to sky.

French is the dream place to me, I would like to go to French that to see fashion element, feel romantic tone, and teste dainty food in someday.

Children of United States ~ Journal # 14

In my impression of Children of United States they are always happy and very free everyday.
Every time when I go to somewhere else, I can see they are happily play game in park with no worried.
Because I think their parants don't over beating them when they make mistake, and give them some rewerds when they do something good.
But, some children is the elder in the home, they must take other children whom is young than him.
Then their behavior must become more strong, and abide some pressure, because their mom can't take care them when she has to work out of the home.
That appearance is similar both of Taiwan and U.S., but children of Taiwan are more unhappy than U.S..
Now we know children of U.S. is more happy and no worried when they are so young.

My favorite place ~ Journal # 13

My favorite place is my home.
I am not mean the place that I live right now, I mean the place that I lived in Taiwan.
I went to a lot of place, thoes places are great or beautiful that also made me had good memories of them.
But the greater one what I want to talk about is my sweet home in Taiwan.
I have uncountable memories whit my family in that home, including sweet, sed, happy, or angry..., etc.
In that home, at the kitchen, I like to stay beside my mom and help her to cook food, at the living room, I like to chat with my dad and watch TV, at my room, I love to enjoy my individual past time or soft exercise.
I never think the home is so important to me, but when I live in American that it's make me miss so much my sweet family and home.
Live with family in a house is how great to me, so my favorite place is my blissfully home forever.

Celebrate Taiwan's gala ~ Journal # 12

In Taiwan, every year we have a gala called Mid-Autumn Festival.
At this gala we always BBQ under the moon with family and friends.
And you will get some mooncake from friend or the other people.
This year's Mid-Autumn Festival is Tuesday 9/25, because eveyone has class at next day.
My friends and I decided to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival earlier.
So we would have BBQ in my friend's house at Sunday.
Then today everybody have different job that prepare different stuffs and meet in my friend's house at 2:30 p.m..
My job is go to buy soda, tea,and butter for the BBQ.
After that, I went to my friend's house and started the BBQ with my friends.
At the BBQ time, we sitting, talking, and eating in the balcony, and done our happy celebrate time in 7:30 p.m..
I am very happy about today's celebrate time, because Mid-Autumn Festival means friend or family can get together in that day.

My Favorite Season ~ Journal # 11

My favorite season is Spring.
Everytime when Winter change to Spring, the weather is not cold any more.
Trees, flowers, and animals are come out from snowly world.
Trees to begin accrete foliage, flowers to begin bloom, and animals revive form hibernacle.
The world is white to color, and anything is lively.
In spring I love to see everything is turn to sprightly that's first reason I like Spring.
Second, when spring is come that's mean a new year is start.
Every bed thing or bed remember should leave it at last year, and prepare to live in the new year.
The last reason is I afraid of cold, So I'm glad weather is warmer than Winter.
Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter no matter I will change to love other season or not.
For now, my favorite season still is Spring.

The Person Who Influence Me ~ Journal # 10

The Person who has influenced me is my monther.
My mom is a strong women, and her personality is so kind to everybody.
In my parants company, she have to operate every process and dispose of any problem.
So her thought is very considerately.
Everytime when I have hard problem that I can't solve it.
I always get some ways from my mom that tell me how to do and which way is better to me.
Sometime I can learn a lot of expensive my mom teachs me, and I will use my expensive if next time I get other problem.
And sometime I can't have decidetion by myself, I will talk to my mom and discause what should I do.
Then my mom always tells me what is adventage or disadventage about the thing.
After that, my mom will sopport me decidedetion which can help my future.
So my mom influened my life alot, and became my fulcrum in my life.

Britney Spears ~ Jouranl # 9

I think Britney Spears is a mess, and her friend too.
Because since she was married, had baby,or devoiced with her husbend.
Almost news that is talk about her is so carzy and terrible.
And the reason maybe is her success when her too young.
Then her doesn't how to control her behavior.
So, now everybody think her personlity is only bed.
although she is come back to her singing-life.
But it's not help her at all!

The day of 9/11 ~ jouranl # 8

Before the 9/11 event was happend.
Because at that day I am in school, when I came back home .
I hear about that from the TV news.
When the time I hear that I can't believe that was really happend.
And I saw the TV news played the video again and again.
Also I saw a lot of people who is watched the towers tumbled immediately, they were crying, screaming, and runing for the area.
Then I though how upset about those people who is died in the event,and even they can't say good bye to their family.
I think the screen would keep in American's mind, and them never forget it.

A important person to me ~ journal # 7

I think the person who was importan to me in the pass is my grandfather.
I still remember when I was so young, my grandfather always took me somewhere for fun.
Because when I was a child, my parants were so busy everyday.
So they couldn't take care me for all the day.
My grandfather was a very kind and great person, because I remember when I staied in my grandfather's house, and his friends came to visit him all the time.
Why I think my grandfather was so important to me, I think because he take care of me when I was a child and took me went to a lot of place for fun.
Even my grandfather is died, but I'll remember him forever.
And my family does.

Spend too much at this week ~ # 6

haha...I think this week I spend a lot of money.
I bought bicycle,food,maintain stuffs,and magazine in this week.
And eat dining with friends.
So, I think I have to start saving money.
Ok!
Right now I will pay attention in classes and TOEFL test!

My New Bike ~ Journal # 5

Today after noon, I thought I will stay at home all the day.
But I dont want to stay at home all day, because it's boring.
So, after lunch I went to my friend's home and took some stuffs to my home.
Then I want to buy a new bicycle for using at go to school.
And I ask my friend to go bicycle center with me.
When I look around some bicycle I found all of bicycle is so expensive.
But I want choose a cheaper one, so I found a pink and cute one and that one was not too expensive.
Because I will stay in American for a long time.
Finally, I decided to buy it and put a new basket in front of the bike.
So right now, I have a new and cute bicycle which can goes to school with me!

Alex was left ~Journal #4

Today is Saturday 9/8.
Yesterday, was the day my best friend stay in U.S.A.
Because yesterday he will leave at midnight, so after my class was done.
We and some friend have lunch togerther, than because he have to sell his car than we went to Pasadena to sell his car to other person.
And than, we have to go back to fullerton and go to Brea mall buy some gifts.
In the go back way the traffic was very bed, but we still got there on time.
After bought gifts, we went back my firend's home and pick up his stuffs.
When we left his home it's almost 8 p.m.
So, we decided to have a dinner then go to airport with him.
In airport, I feel a litter bit sad because I dont know when is the next time I can see him.
And we hang each other then watch him into airport.

One of my best friend-Alex ~Daily # 3

I have a friend who is very take care me and very nice to me, hi is Alex. And he will leave U.S. and go back to Taiwan at this thursday midnight. I think not just me will miss him, all of our friend will miss him too. Because he is such a great and nice person to evenbody. We met at last year and become classmate in fall semeter. Than we become friend untill now. Because we went to a lot of places and have a great memories,and he always help me when I need help and took me anywhere where I want to go. But now he will leave soon, so I feel a little bit sad. That's fine, because when I go back to Taiwan I'll meet him again.

The long and hot weekend. ~Daily # 2

This weekend has 3 days than my friend decided to go to "Big Bear Lake" for fun. And other reason was one of my best friend will go back to Taiwan, so we want to give him a good memory. At saturday , we went to BBL and when we almost get there, the forst was fire. So, we change the way to get there. We arrivel there almost 5 p.m., but the sun still on sky and the views are amazing. Eventhing was great and wonduful. Sudduly we made a carzy decition that was stay there one night than next day go to Dessert Hills for shopping. Ofcause we really did it. So, yesterday morning when we go to Dessert Hills there wsa hot and a lot of people and we left at 4 p.m. And on this two days, we meet forst fire, big rains and something was so unbelieveable. But we have a great and nice time on this two days, and unforget memories in our mind forever!

The fun Wensday night.

Y esterday waw Wensday. After class, I want to singing with my friend.
We had a lot of fun at there. of cause we were carzy in the singing room.
and we sing about 4 hours. after sing it already 8 p.m.
Than, everybody decided to go to have a dinner.
when I got home, it almost 11 p.m.
Of cause I am tried, but it is really fun !
